We all know shopping is therapeutic. For me it has a calming effect on mind and body. Sure it's nice to shop for myself but shopping for a gift is even better. We all know it's better to give than receive. The thrill of hunting for and finding just the right item for a friend or relative adds to the excitement. My favorite go to gift is very often a book. Food is a close second. I don't have to worry about size or style when I gift these.

I can't do Black Friday shopping (unless it's online) - I don't have the patience or the stamina for the lines and the crowds. NO holiday shopping today for me. I will admit to a very brief stop at a retailer for some new pillows. It was crowded, noisy, and irritating and I remember why I do not participate in these reindeer games! Starbucks sounds amazing right now! I love Black Friday shopping, but this year they started at 8pm on thursday so I decided to stay at home and read. I went out about 11:30, when the stores were almost empty and still got all the specials that I wanted.
