Some of the participating authors have joined together to create this fun blog hop. We have been asked if the changing seasons influence our writing and/or the choice of books we read.

My writing style doesn't change with the seasons, but I am always aware of seasonal details when I write. What's going on outside the window? Is there a holiday associated with the time of year?
Although, I'm a sucker for sappy holiday movies, I'll read a holiday themed story anytime.

I live in S. Florida where Fall and Spring don't exist. We do have a winter which I'm sure many of you living in those snowbound places would debate.

PRIZES

What do you think? Do you read seasonal books year round or only during the season?
Leave a comment with your email and you'll be eligible for a random drawing of a jute peace, love, and chocolate bag. (USA only)

  1. Hi, Zelda, I know about "winters" like those in Florida, since I lived in California for over ten years: FAKE!!!! But, noticeable changes, nonetheless.

I love your slogan and the bag looks large and useful. Enter me!

    Best to you, Sally

  2. I only read Christmas books between late November and January. Growing up in Florida, I needed the boost to get into the Christmas mood. Kind of hard to put up Christmas tree with the A/C blasting.

  4. I read every single day but mostly reading ARCs these days. Seems like once I got started in March or April, my "services" have been in demand. I love that authors trust me to read and review for them. I did one year read books based upon the season or holiday and that was lots of fun, seeking out seasonal books. I just read a Christmas story for a friend, and I actually teared up 3 times while reading it. For me, that is rare.
I live at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and so I do experience seasons! The leaves here are starting to change, there is a nip in the air! Fall is Here!
I love reading and reviewing books, and don't plan on anything changing.

  6. Hi there: As to reading seasonal books, I don't think that I have ever thought about it. I love books in series if they ARE a series book and usually get each one as soon as it comes out so it is usually seasonal if it has a season in it. Otherwise the only time I read a winter/holiday book is for bookclub each Christmas time to get us in the mood for our Christmas party. Other than that I will read a GOOD book anytime and never care what season the book is about or what season I am into. The bag looks great. I carry a tote with me all the time as I have to take medical and replacement bandages with me everywhere I go if I am going to be away from home for more than an hour or so, and so totes have been a blessing for me. I also carry a lot of medical papers around with me and having a tote keeps them much nicer than in a purse. Thank you and wishing you big sales with your book, Zelda. Love this book cover too; a terrific book inside that lovely cover too.
